开光 Celestron EdgeHD 14" First Light

早前某个晚上天气特别好，大气透明度也高，带了Celestron EdgeHD 14"到星河科研社新界西新观星基地开光， 当晚除了Televue Ethos目镜外，也带了一堆较短焦的TMB Supermonocentric目镜测试，这目镜是由已故Thomas Back设计及德国製造，被喻为月面行星目镜的登峰造极之作，当年我甚至在德国用254APO折射镜及600Dob对照测试，只要视场容得下，其超高对比度在深空天体方面的表现也无逢对手。
有经验的月面行星观测者，会用焦距紧密的目镜一级级推高倍率观测以榨取大气视宁度容许的最多细节。当晚从500x、570x、667x、800x、1000x推高，高对比度的土星在800x止步，1000x并无增益但影像仍结实，低对比度的木星则以667x为限。看过了土星的5颗卫星、木卫凌木、天王星圆面、火星极冠及大流沙等，望远镜初步顺利开光，便结束了当晚轻快的测试。

On a night sometime earlier, the weather was particularly good and the atmosphere was highly transparent. I brought Celestron EdgeHD 14" to the Galaxy Scientific Group New Territories West new observation Base for the first light. In addition to the Televue Ethos eyepieces, I also brought a bunch of short-focus TMB Supermonocentric eyepieces that night. This eyepiece was designed by the late Thomas Back and made in Germany. It is known as the pinnacle of lunar planetary eyepieces. I even used 254APO refractors and 600Dob in Germany for comparison tests. As long as the field of view can accommodate it, its super The high-contrast performance on deep-sky objects is also second to none.
Experienced lunar planetary observers will use eyepieces with tight focal lengths to increase the magnification step by step to extract the most details allowed by the atmospheric seeing. Pushed up from 500x, 570x, 667x, 800x, 1000x that night, the high-contrast Saturn stopped at 800x, 1000x has no gain but the image is still solid, and the low-contrast Jupiter is limited to 667x. After seeing the 5 satellites of Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, the polar cap and Syrtis Major Planum of Mars etc., the brief first light test was done.
